Proud To Welcome Patients With Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) Coverage
In the course of growth and development, the jaws and teeth may not align properly, and result in a poor bite. This can affect chewing, speaking, and breathing, as well as a patient’s appearance. Treatment involves teamwork with your orthodontist to carefully evaluate the size of the teeth, the space available in the jaws for the teeth, and the alignment of the jaws themselves. If you are referred for jaw surgery, your surgeon will evaluate the position of your jaws with an examination and x-rays. He will discuss the type of surgery required, and whether it will involve the top, bottom, or both jaws. Surgeries will be performed in a hospital, and usually require an overnight stay.
